Simply enter names in the text box (separated by commas or line breaks), adjust any settings you want, and click the Start button. Watch the marble race to see who wins! For detailed instructions, see our How to Use guide.
No! Space Roulette requires no registration or account creation. You can start using it immediately without providing any personal information.
No, Space Roulette is completely free to use. All features are available to everyone at no cost, with no premium tiers or hidden fees.
Add *number after their name. For example, Alice*5 gives Alice 5 entries in the selection. This is useful for raffles where someone has earned multiple tickets.
Multiple entries (*number) literally create that many copies of the name. Weights (/number) adjust the probability without adding separate visual marbles. Both affect the chances of being selected, but multiple entries show more marbles in the race.
Yes! Click the "Last" button in the settings to make the last marble to finish be the winner instead of the first. You can also enter a custom position number.
Space Roulette can handle hundreds of names. However, for the best visual experience and performance, we recommend keeping it under 100 entries when possible.
Yes! Space Roulette automatically saves your name list in your browser's local storage. When you return, your previous list will be restored. Note that clearing your browser data will remove this saved list.
Once you've loaded Space Roulette in your browser, it may work offline thanks to service worker caching. However, the first visit requires an internet connection.
Yes! We use JavaScript's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues()) to ensure truly unpredictable and unbiased results. Each marble's initial conditions are determined by these random values, making the outcome genuinely random.
No. The randomness is generated using cryptographic methods that cannot be predicted or manipulated. The physics simulation then plays out based on these random initial conditions. There's no way for us or anyone else to influence the outcome.
The marble race visualization serves two purposes: it's engaging to watch, and it provides transparency. You can see with your own eyes that the process is random and fair - the marbles genuinely race with unpredictable outcomes, rather than just showing a pre-determined result.
Space Roulette works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version of your preferred browser for the best experience.
Yes! Space Roulette is fully optimized for smartphones and tablets. The interface adapts to your screen size, and touch controls work smoothly.
Space Roulette runs a real-time physics simulation for each marble. With very large numbers of marbles (100+), the physics calculations can slow down on less powerful devices. For best performance, we recommend keeping entries under 100.
Click the "Recording" checkbox in the settings before starting. Space Roulette will capture the entire marble race as a video that you can download and share.
We collect only anonymous usage statistics through Google Analytics (like which features are used, browser type, and approximate location). We do NOT collect, store, or have any access to the names you enter. Everything is processed locally in your browser. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Names are stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are never transmitted to our servers or anyone else. You have complete control and can clear them anytime by clearing your browser data.
Since the names you enter never leave your browser and are never sent to any server, they are as secure as your own device. We cannot access, see, or store any names you enter into Space Roulette.
Absolutely! You can freely use Space Roulette in videos, live streams, presentations, or any other content without restriction or attribution required.
Yes. Space Roulette is free to use for both personal and commercial purposes. You can use it in business settings, paid events, commercial broadcasts, or any other commercial context.

Try refreshing the page. Make sure your browser supports HTML5 Canvas and has JavaScript enabled. If you're using an older browser, try updating to the latest version.
This usually happens when you clear your browser's cache or local storage. The name list is saved in your browser's local storage, so clearing browser data will remove it. Consider keeping a backup copy of frequently-used name lists elsewhere.
This can happen on less powerful devices with many marbles. Try reducing the number of entries, closing other browser tabs, or using a more powerful device. You can also try disabling the "Skills" option which adds extra visual effects.
Yes! We welcome feedback, bug reports, and feature suggestions. While we're a small team and can't respond to everything personally, we read all feedback carefully and use it to improve Space Roulette.
